Handley Page Halifax Mk.III - LV820 / Marking: EY-F Takeoff from RAF Brieghton 12 June 1944 at 22:13 hrs for a bombing operation against communication/railway facilities at Amiens in the Somme département.
The aircraft was intercepted and shot down in a two-minute combat, by Unteroffizier Johann Werthner of the 7./NJG 2, who had taken off from Volkel airfield in the Netherlands before midnight, in a Junkers Ju 88, crashing at Bosc‑Mesnil, Seine‑Maritime.
There were no survivors amongst the crew.
